Alex Groot is a Senior Vice President, Managing Director based out of Charlotte, NC, responsible for co-leading all business development and client relations for the firm’s Servicing Operations. He has a track record of winning business, building a loyal customer base, diversifying product offerings and delivering significant revenue growth.
Prior to joining Berkadia in 2023, Groot was Managing Director of Business Development at Wells Fargo. There, he was responsible for coordinating business development activities and maintaining ongoing client relationships. In addition to handling lender client relationships, Groot and his team were responsible for Defeasance processing and consulting activities. Prior to Wells Fargo, Groot served as CMBS Asset Manager for both large loan and conduit transactions, he developed a quality-oriented customer service team for which he hired and trained all new employees, and he also handled pricing and whole loan sales as a capital markets analyst in RMBS.
Groot has a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Carolina Darla Moore School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Wofford College. In addition, he holds the Certified Commercial Mortgage Servicer designation.
