Fred Dockweiler joined Berkadia as a Managing Director of Affordable Housing in May 2019. He is currently based in Berkadia’s Bellevue, WA office. Fred brings over 25 years of commercial real estate experience, with over 10 of those years focused specifically on debt and equity to develop and finance affordable housing projects. During his career working for banks, developers, and tax credit syndicators, he has financed the construction and preservation of thousands of affordable units nationwide.
Prior to joining Berkadia, Fred was a Vice President – Affordable Housing Mortgage Banker, originating permanent debt solutions for affordable housing clients of KeyBank Real Estate Capital. Post-education, Fred worked for predecessor regional banks in the Midwest that ultimately became Bank of America. Thereafter, he was the VP-Finance for the Jeffrey E. Smith Companies, a vertically integrated affordable housing developer where he secured debt for a variety of projects. He subsequently worked for PNC Multifamily Capital, leading a team of tax credit equity underwriters.
