Jonathan Friedman is an Associate Director of Mortgage Banking in Berkadia’s Los Angeles office, where he specializes in Affordable Housing and HUD transactions. He has facilitated more than $500M in debt financing spanning a wide range of deal types — from long-term preservation/recapitalization, to short-term value-add and repositioning, to ground-up construction using low-income housing tax credits (LIHTCs) and tax-exempt bonds.
Prior to joining Berkadia in 2018, Jonathan spent 8 years as a strategy and communications consultant for Fortune 100-500 companies, issue advocacy groups, government agencies, and political candidates.
Jonathan is a licensed real estate agent in Massachusetts and California. He has a Bachelor’s degree from New York University and a Master’s from the London School of Economics, and he is currently an MBA candidate at Babson College.
