Josh Lipsey is a Senior Director of Mortgage Banking out of the Morristown, NJ office. With nearly two decades of industry experience, Josh Lipsey has distinguished himself as a specialist in the financing of commercial real estate, having closed more than 3,000 transactions valued in excess of $7 billion and nationwide deployment of loan proceeds ranging from $500,000 to $178 million.
Revered as an expert in gathering and interpreting proprietary market data, Josh has placed himself at the forefront of every transaction where price discovery occurs. His innate ability to identify choke points and formulate creative lending solutions has allowed him to consistently maximize profits for funding sources as well as borrowers.
Launching his career at Washington Mutual, Josh was involved in the financing of 1,100 multifamily loans totaling more than $1.7 billion. He then served as a commercial mortgage broker for Marcus & Millichap’s New Jersey office and later joined Berkadia for a brief period before moving to Europe and founding JL Global Capital. There he forged enduring relationships with more than 100 commercial banks in the United States and Europe, building an impressive client base of more than 1,000 owners and investors.
Upon returning to the States, he rejoined Berkadia to most effectively provide his clients with direct Agency lending options as well as exclusive Life Company and CMBS relationships while maintaining the ability to broker loans.
