Liz Diamond, Managing Director and Head of Affordable Originations, is responsible for the structuring of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac Affordable Housing transactions. Under Liz’s leadership, Berkadia Affordable Housing’s 2021 mortgage banking production volume totaled $3.3B, more than 100% year over year growth. In 2021, Berkadia Affordable Housing was ranked the #1 Freddie Mac Affordable Housing lender. Liz has more than 20 years of Affordable Housing financing experience and in 2021 was the recipient of the GlobeSt Women of Influence Award.
Prior to joining Berkadia, Diamond was a Vice President with Lancaster Pollard responsible for mortgage banking and investment banking in the western region. Previously she worked at the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust (Trust) as director of the western region and as a senior investment officer. At the Trust she was responsible for multifamily investment activities with a focus on Federal Housing Administration (FHA) and Government Sponsored Enterprise (GSE) executions for affordable and market rate transactions. Ms. Diamond started her career as a loan underwriter with Walker & Dunlop and then moved into mortgage banking where she focused on GSE affordable and market rate originations.
