Charlie is a Senior Managing Director and serves as the co-head of Berkadia Orange County & San Diego Mortgage Banking. Charlie has over 25 years of real estate consulting, debt, and equity experience across all types of commercial, multifamily and assisted living projects. In 2023, Charlie and his team joined Berkadia from Newmark, where they originated approximately $15 billion in multifamily loans nationwide during his tenure.
Previously, Charlie co-founded and served as COO of Westar Housing, which acquired, managed and sold over $100 million of multifamily real estate during his tenure. Prior to that, he spent 11 years with Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he last held the position of Managing Director and National Head of Origination for the bank’s Real Estate Structured Finance Group. In this role, he managed a national team of origination professionals in eight offices with an annual production volume of $30+ billion, served on the firm’s credit committee and managed the structuring, analysis, and approval of billions of dollars in commercial real estate debt.
